Having graduated with a degree in Finance and Actuarial disciplines from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, I worked briefly in insurance, investment and management consulting prior to joining OC&C.
Eventually, it's the sheer vibrancy and panoramic global view that captivates me in this career. To me, strategy consulting is the most enjoyable and rewarding “random walk” in the business world. It's real, dynamic, at the same time, unpredictable. And because our clients at OC&C are large and complex businesses, our projects do span across borders. You almost never know where this job will take you to till the moment you are on the plane! This role has not only landed me on some serious boardroom meetings but also taken me on road trips understanding local retail businesses in New Zealand.
OC&C consultants are both smart and of great character. You constantly sense learning opportunities working with these lovely talents. However, junior consultants are not there to do manual, monotonous tasks, but to be an active part at every stage of the engagement. What's striking to me when I first joined was the level of attention I received from more experienced consultants. People make all the difference. Oh by the way, having fun is a mandatory part of the deal!
