“I genuinely believe OC&C’s culture is unique.”
I had worked in management consultancy for a number of years, based in London. After moving to Mumbai, I joined Vodafone Essar to strengthen my operational experience. But the lure of consulting was irresistible, and in October 2007 I joined OC&C’s Mumbai office.
I chose OC&C because I wanted to help Indian companies become tomorrow’s global leaders. I also wanted to work in a dynamic and international environment, and maintain a healthy work/life balance. A recent project involved managing teams based in France, Hong Kong and San Francisco, for a UK client, from Mumbai. You don’t get much more of a dynamic, international work/life balance than that!
Having worked with a couple of consulting firms (both as consultant and client!), I genuinely believe OC&C’s culture is unique in the way it encourages innovation without ‘borders’ - people at all levels make themselves available for input and advice, and international experiences and expertise are shared on a regular basis. This is particularly important when working for a young office, where access to the OC&C global network is crucial.

Having worked earlier on highly structured analytical assignments in my brief stint as a software consultant before completing my MBA degree, I was keen on working on ‘unstructured’ problems –the thought of working for a business environment where one has to be comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, was challenging and provoking!
Work at OC&C has lived up to its expectations – every project is new, intensely stimulating and brings with it a fantastic learning experience.
A typical due diligence exercise will see us pottering away at our desks till glory hours - speaking to industry experts, gathering critical information, creating (highly complex!) spreadsheets, analysing the findings and the import to our client, working on the presentation deck to get the right message across – all in a day’s work.
OC&C is a great place to work in – the atmosphere just the right mix of ‘nurture’ and ‘challenge’, co-workers who keep you on your toes and inspire the best in you and a tremendous learning opportunity every day.

Working at OC&C allows me to do what I love most – Travel. Under the pretext of training at ITW, we have a lot of fun interacting with our colleagues from other offices, at exotic locations. I also had the opportunity to work in the London office for 7 months last year, a truly enriching experience, meeting with lovely people and getting newer perspectives to issues, vastly different from what we come across in India
At every level in the organisation, you can look up to your seniors and aspire to be them. All in all – as clichéd as it sounds – OC&C is a great place to work!

I was a sales & marketing manager for a multinational confectionary company, when the offer to join OC&C arose. The challenge to solve address board level issues in projects across various industry segments and come up with implementable solutions was one I could not refuse.
In my two years at OC&C I have graduated from being a team member a project to managing projects independently, thanks to the responsibility this firm has offered me early in my career and the opportunities to expand my skill sets through regular training sessions in India and in great international destinations every year (think Barcelona, Budapest!)
What has made my decision worthwhile is the fact that at OC&C work happens in a fun and non hierarchical and encouraging environment. Aspiring candidates would be well advised to bring along a smile and a sense of humour to the interview in addition to those sharp analytical and creative skills.
